In 2006, Kathleen "Katy" Brown begins her second year of serving on the WIT Board.  In 2006 Katy will continue as the WIT Director of Events where she works with the event chairs to ensure that events are successful in both their planning and execution.

Katy has over seventeen years of success in selling information technology software, hardware and services to medium and large Enterprise Customers.  Since 1997, she has led the Major Accounts team for Microsoft's Southeast District serving customers like The Coca-Cola Company, Georgia-Pacific, UPS, Southern Company and many more.  Under her leadership, the team has not only exceeded sales goals, but attained the highest overall customer satisfaction ratings in the United States.

In her passionate pursuit of sales excellence and customer loyalty, Katy has been recognized by a number of awards for sales achievement, leadership & management.  Her efficacy as a leader is underscored by personal commitment to long-term executive relationships among customers, partners, and peers in the industry.  Before joining Microsoft, Katy spent over a decade with Lotus Development and IBM in Global Sales and Enterprise Systems.  Katy is an active Board Member of WIT (Women in Technology) and delights in enriching industry opportunities for women.

A native of San Francisco, Katy completed her B.S. in Managerial Economics from University of California, Davis.  Her executive education includes several courses of study at the IBM Advanced Business Institute.  An adoring mother of three daughters, Katy has little time for her personal hobbies-yoga and cooking.
