For 2007, Margot King will serve as Secretary of the WITF Board of Directors to assist in the record keeping and documentation of all board meetings. Prior to her role on the board of WITF, Margot served as Co-Chair of WIT Connect ’06 in presenting the premier networking and fundraising event in Atlanta's technology community. That event exceeded all revenue expectations and paves the way for a future success model. WIT Connect brings together the leaders of Georgia's technology community who donate their time in the form of a lunch which is auctioned off to raise money to support WIT and the WIT Foundation.
Margot King is the Founder and CEO of OnSite Resource Solutions, an Atlanta based professional services firm that specializes in organizational effectiveness by optimizing talent acquisition, talent development, and project governance of technology processes. She has been the creator, producer and host of Job Talk, a nationally syndicated radio talk show about career empowerment. Margot has had 25 years experience in the human resource consulting business and is a nationally recognized pioneer in the concept of on-site recruitment and retention solutions. She was the Founder and CEO of Select Resource, a national human resource consulting firm with workforce of more than 80 full time consultants serving Fortune 500 clients globally. It was acquired in 1999.
In addition to running her company, OnSite Recruit, Margot is a sought after speaker for professional and business functions, and has been a contributing writer/columnist for the Atlanta Journal Constitution and Atlanta Woman magazine. She is the co-author of Perfect Phrases for Perfect Hiring, a McGraw-Hill publication due out spring of 2007.
Margot has been very active with non-profit endeavors serving on the advisory board of the Women's Commerce Club; the advisory board of the Atlanta Women's Network; the Steering Committee for the Board of Visitors of the Henry Grady Health Center; the board of the YWCA and on the Member's Guild of the Atlanta History Center. In addition, King is a member of National Association of Women Business Owners; a certified woman-owned business member of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC); and a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and serves as the 2007 Chairperson for their signature fund-raising event. Margot and her husband, Jerry Watkins have been residents of Atlanta, Georgia for over twenty-five years, and have a daughter who is a practicing attorney in Nashville, Tennessee.
