Sandy has been active on the WIT Board for the past two years.  In 2005, Sandy was responsible for launching the Executive Roundtable program as well as supported the Sponsorship team.  In 2006, Sandy assumes responsibilities for all sponsorship activity as WIT's Director of Sales.  She also continues to be involved with the Executive Roundtable and Corporate Relations programs.

Sandy Phelps is currently a Named Account Executive for Symantec Corporation formerly VERITAS Software (Nasdaq: VRTSE).  Symantec Corporation, headquartered in Mt. View, CA, is one of the four largest software companies in the world.  Symantec is a leading provider of software and services that deliver security products, data protection, storage & server management, high availability and application performance management to 99 percent of the Fortune 500.

Sandy has spent her entire sales career in the Technology Industry.  Prior to Symantec, she was a Sr. Account Executive with SAS selling Business Intelligence Solutions.  She began her career in 1986 at Motorola, Inc. as a Marketing Assistant for the company's analog and digital two-way voice and data radio products division.

In 1987 she joined AT&T spending 9 years selling voice and data network service starting as an Inside Account Executive.  Embracing change, she became a part of the company's developing outside sales force and went on to becoming an International Account Executive.

After being promoted to a new Mid Markets organization in 1994, she was recruited to join an AT&T spin-off, Lucent Technologies in 1996 selling call center technologies in Lucent's National Sales and Services Division.  In 2000, Sandy accepted a challenging new position with Cisco Systems, Inc. selling IP network infrastructures to startup Network Service Providers.

Sandy attributes her success in technology sales to always putting her customer's needs first and her ability to build strong long term relationships with her customers.  And, her results are proof!

For the past two years, Sandy has been a proud Board member for Women in Technology (WIT).  She is presently serves on the Sponsorship Team and as Director of the WIT Executive Roundtable.

Sandy is originally from Albany, GA and a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Marketing.  As a Georgia native, Sandy has supported other organizations such as the Women's Mission and the Georgia Council on Child Abuse chairing various fundraisers on their behalf.  She is an avid athlete and an aspiring pianist.  Sandy currently resides in Buckhead.
