Creative Leadership:
The Leadership Journey

Being the best leader you can be, especially in a technology setting is a constant challenge.  What works one day may be totally inappropriate the next month—leaders must be able to adapt and flex their organization to face the everyday trials of running a large mission critical organization.

Shirley Bridges will use her experience leading large technology organizations and as an entrepreneur to relay some of the tenets for successful technology leadership today.  Come learn from a true professional as she presents the lessons she has learned in her leadership journey.

Shirley Bridges is Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Delta Air Lines and President of Delta Technology.  Bridges rose quickly through the technology ranks at Delta Air Lines where her leadership, entrepreneurial abilities, program direction, and specialization in achieving business turn-arounds has served her in good stead.  She has led some of the largest IT projects within Delta including leading their $200 million SAP project and a $120 million global deployment of XP.

An Atlanta native, Bridges began her career at Norfolk Southern where she worked for 16 years.  She then ran her own business for three years, continuing her education by securing a Series 6, 26, and 63 and becoming a Registered Principal.  Bridges is also a licensed real estate investor and holds a master's certificate in Project Management.

She serves on the advisory board for CISCO, the board of Habitat for Humanity of Atlanta, the Committee of 100 for Girls Inc. of Atlanta and the Information Technology Senior Management Forum.  Shirley has received numerous awards and has twice been a finalist for Women of the Year in Technology, one of Computerworld's 2004 "Premiere 100 IT Leaders", and is past president of Delta's Women's Employee Network.
