Two 'Georgia CIO of the Year' Winners Come From Women in Technology (WIT)


October 24, 2005 - ATLANTA, GA - WIT, a Society of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and the leading association committed to the development of Georgia's businesswomen in the technology industry, is pleased to recognize of the achievements of two of its members, Ann Franks, Lanier Worldwide, Inc. and Marian Lucia, Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta.  Both women were recognized by the Georgia CIO Leadership Association as a CIO of the Year Award winner.  Franks was named National CIO of the Year, while Lucia was named Regional CIO of the Year.

In addition to their leadership within their organization and among their peers, Franks and Lucia have also contributed their efforts to the 2005 WIT's Best Employers in Georgia Awards, serving as Chair of the event and as a judge, respectively.  Bart Woods, the Vice Chair of the CIO of the Year Awards, also has served as a WIT's Best Employers judge.  This year's event will be held on Friday, November 4th from 7:30-9:30 at the InterContinetnal Hotel in Buckhead.

"We are so pleased that two of our own have been recognized for their outstanding technical leadership," said Sarah Bajc, WIT President.  "Both Ann Franks and Marian Lucia have made tremendous contributions to their organizations, their community and to WIT.  In fact, all three CIO of the Year Award winners, including James Dallas of Georgia-Pacific, who won as Global CIO, were WIT Connect Auction Candidates this year!"

Franks and Lucia are members of WIT and the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG).  These new winners join the ranks of other active WIT members who have been recognized as CIO of the Year in the past including Sandy Hofmann, MAPICS (2003), Rebecca Blalock, Southern Company (2003) and Elaine Mitchell, United Way of Metro Atlanta (2002).
