Women in Technology Announces Gold Level Sponsorship of Technology Association of GA

New Partnership Forged Between WIT and TAG

November 11, 2005 - ATLANTA, GA - Women in Technology (WIT), a Society of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and the leading association committed to the development of Georgia's businesswomen in the technology industry announced that they have made a significant financial commitment to the Technology Association of Georgia.  TAG is the largest technology association of its kind in the southeast, with over 2000 members.  TAG's mission is to build, connect and enable the people and companies engaged in Georgia's technology community.

"WIT is a founding member of TAG and we believe in what they do, so we were pleased to demonstrate our enthusiastic support by becoming a Gold Sponsor" says Sarah Bajc, WIT's Chairman. "There needs to be a strong technology association in Georgia, to drive economic development, while providing educational and networking opportunity to tech stakeholders" Bajc goes on to say. "The WIT/TAG team, have reaffirmed out commitment to work hand in hand toward the betterment of Georgia's technology community".

"We are so pleased that two of our own have been recognized for their outstanding technical leadership," said Sarah Bajc, WIT President.  "Both Ann Franks and Marian Lucia have made tremendous contributions to their organizations, their community and to WIT.  In fact, all three CIO of the Year Award winners, including James Dallas of Georgia-Pacific, who won as Global CIO, were WIT Connect Auction Candidates this year!"

Tino Mantella, TAG's President, was also exuberant about the new partnership.  Stating that; "WIT is a tremendous organization and their support sends a strong message to the community that WIT and TAG are aligned in their efforts to build our technology community".  "WIT's work has had an immeasurable impact on women in technology and the technology sector as a whole, and we are proud to be partners with them", says Mantella.

Mantella points out that the agreement between TAG and WIT goes beyond sponsorship.  "It recognizes that both organizations have evolved, just as has the technology world as a whole".  "WIT is now a separate entity, yet remains an essential Society of TAG".  Both Bajc and Mantella expressed their belief that this new relationship will enable both organizations to effectively achieve their missions while taking advantage of the economies of a strong affiliation.

"We want WIT's full involvement in TAG and have provided them with both a seat on TAG's prestigious Board of Directors as well as a place on our Leadership Council", says Mantella.  "We also plan to be working on major WIT/TAG event, which we plan to announce in early 2006.  The new WIT/TAG agreement went into effect on September 30th, 2005.
