Sue Miller Named New WIT Foundation President April 18, 2006 - ATLANTA, GA - The WIT Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Women in Technology (WIT), the leading association committed to the development of Georgia's businesswomen in the technology industry, today announced that Sue Miller will take the reins of the organization and serve as Interim President through the end of 2006. Miller has been a part of WIT since 1995 and has held several leadership positions within WIT, including terms as President, Vice President and Director of Finance among other roles. Miller has succeeded Sarah Bajc who decided to step down due to scheduling demands after serving multiple terms on the WIT board as well as being an instrumental member of the team that launched the WIT Foundation. Bajc will stay on as part of the WIT Foundation and will continue to play an advisory director role throughout the rest of the year. "Sue Miller has a true passion for what we are trying to achieve within the WIT Foundation and I know that will translate into her ability to continue to successfully lead and inspire those who support the organization through volunteerism and partnership," said Sarah Bajc, Past President, WIT Foundation. Bajc has served on the WIT Board of Directors since 1999. She was President for WIT in 2005 and was Vice President in 2004. Miller most recently served as the Director of WIT on Track as part of the WIT Foundation leadership team. Over the past two years, she has helped to establish and develop a unique program to provide job experience, mentoring and on-going support for young women at risk interested in pursuing a career in the technology industry. Organizations such as AGL Resources provided internships for these young women. Miller has shown her commitment to the Georgia business and technology community through her extensive volunteerism in a variety of roles. In addition to Miller's long-term involvement as a central part of the WIT and WIT Foundation Leadership teams, she has held leadership roles within the Technology Association of Georgia and the Digital Ball Executive Committee. Miller is also a successful businesswoman and has owned her own company, Sue Miller & Associates, since 2001. Her company has provided IT consulting services to several high profile Atlanta companies, including AGL Resources, GE Energy and SunTrust. Her current engagement is with The Coca-Cola Company via MDI. "We are pleased that Sue was elected as the interim President and was able to step in to continue momentum of the WIT Foundation and its programs," said Marsha Calfee, WIT President. "WIT and the WIT Foundation are defined by the enthusiasm and commitment of its membership and we feel that Sue's rich history with the organization and her achievements made her the perfect choice for this role." Sue will temporarily continue in a dual role, heading up both the WIT Foundation and the WIT on Track program until a new Director of WIT on Track is found. Volunteers interested in becoming part of the WIT Foundation and working in either the WIT on Track or Girls Get IT programs can contact WIT at volunteers@witinc.org.
