More than $280,000 Raised
by Georgia Technology Executives at WIT Connect '06

June 23, 2006 - ATLANTA, GA - More than 700 attendees from the Georgia business and technology community participated in WIT Connect '06, raising more than $280,000 to support the initiatives of Women in Technology (WIT) and the WIT Foundation including its philanthropic initiatives, WIT on Track and Girls Get IT.

At WIT Connect, companies and individuals bid in silent and live auctions for one-on-one lunches with more than 40 decision-makers representing many of Georgia's leading companies.  This year's executives are responsible for allocating over $3.5 billion in budgets, illustrating the value for any company of the opportunity to meet these individuals face-to-face.

Nadia Bilchik of Greater Impact Communication served as emcee of the event, which was chaired by Patti Dismukes and Margot King, both of Onsite Recruit.

"WIT Connect is a win-win event for everybody," said Marsha Calfee, president, WIT.  "Not only does it provide one of the best networking opportunities of the year for the Georgia technology community, but it raises money for a great cause: advancing the role of women in technology in Georgia.  And it's fun!"

This was the twelfth annual WIT Connect.
