The Coca-Cola Company Hosts October 4th Girls Get IT Event
as Part of Corporate Global IT Training Day

Attendees get a unique behind the scenes look at the technologies
that power one of Atlanta's top companies

September 25, 2006 - ATLANTA, GA - The WIT Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Women in Technology (WIT), the leading association committed to the development of Georgia's businesswomen in the technology industry, today announced that The Coca-Cola Company will sponsor the next Girls Get IT event.  The company will host up to 15 girls, from grades 6-12, for a unique event as part of Global IT Training Day.

This special event will feature presentations from Coca-Cola employees and vendors on some of the latest uses of technology.  The half-day event will run from 1-4 PM on Wednesday, October 4th and includes lunch and an ice cream social.  Attendees will also be invited to a surprise special event during the day.

"We are pleased to partner with Coca-Cola to give these girls a unique opportunity to learn more about technology and how one of the best known companies in the world utilizes it in their business," said Tana Glassford, Chair, Girls Get IT.  "Girls Get IT was established to give girls the chance to learn about careers and opportunities in technology while they are still at the point of making choices around their education.  We can't accomplish that without the involvement of companies such as Coca-Cola."

Through partnerships with Georgia businesses such as Home Depot, the Weather Channel, CISCO, Playmotion!, MARTA, Kaiser Permanente and IBM, Girls Get IT has showcased the types of careers that are available to those who major in math or science.  Events are free of charge to attend, though attendees must typically provide their own transportation to and from the event location.

To register for the October 4th event, please contact Tana Glassford: tglassford@ematteroffact.com or (678) 613-1463.  Registration will close on Friday, September 29th or when the attendee limit has been reached, whichever comes first.
