Women in Technology (WIT) Begins Search for Executive Director
Position will support volunteers in the expansion of WIT's programs for women in technology.

January 8, 2007 – ATLANTA, GA - WIT, the premier society in Georgia advancing the careers of women in the field of technology, is seeking an Executive Director to further WIT's mission.  For 14 years WIT has supported women in the technology community through various programs, initiatives and events almost exclusively through volunteer support.  Today, the group announced it will hire a full-time employee who will work with its volunteer program managers to coordinate WIT's activities and manage the relationships with WIT's constituencies.

"We are taking our organization to the next level," said Judi Vitale, WIT President.  "The board has agreed that now is the time for WIT to enhance our current programs.  We want to continue promoting the success of girls and women in technology, increasing our charitable giving, creating new programs, and enhancing corporate and community relations.  To help us do this and to position us for growth, we are seeking a dedicated, forward-thinking individual to serve as Executive Director."

The Executive Director will have responsibility for all general and administrative activities for the organization.  The position will report to the WIT Board of Directors with overall responsibility for ensuring consistent delivery of WIT's vision and mission for the organization.  Representing the organization to the volunteers, participants, sponsors and the technology community at-large will be a priority for the Executive Director.

WIT is receiving help in managing the search from ettain group, Inc.  "When they approached us for assistance in finding the right person to help the organization grow, we were happy to pitch in with pro bono services.  It is essential that Georgia have strong organizations such as WIT that energize the technology community and help us all to grow," said Jeff Harris, Partner and Co-Founder, ettain group.

More information about the position and requirements are available on WIT's web page, www.witinc.org.  Interested candidates can send a resume and cover letter to jobs@witinc.org
