Women In Technology (WIT) Announces 2007 Board of Directors January 24, 2007 – ATLANTA, GA - Women In Technology (WIT), the leading association devoted to the development of Georgia's businesswomen in the industry, today announced the 2007 Board of Directors. WIT works to accelerate the careers of women in technology through initiatives that promote visibility and opportunities for success in the industry. It also attracts women into the field through a number of programs aimed at younger women and girls. Judi Vitale, Indus, will serve as president and Jamie Greene, Kilpatrick Stockton LLP, will serve as vice president. Other officers of the Board include Cassie Crist, Windham Brannon PC, as treasurer; and Brenda Holmes, Kilpatrick Stockton LLP, as secretary. The Foundation, WIT's philanthropic arm, also has new officers—Sue Miller, Sue Miller & Associates, president; Vickie Albee, Allset Consulting, vice president; Margot King, Onsite Recruit, secretary; and Kristi Johnson, Windham Brannon PC, treasurer. The Board announced earlier this year that they are seeking an Executive Director who will be responsible for the day to day operations and coordinating the work of the volunteer program managers shown below:
The organization's theme for 2007 is "Educate, Enhance, and Encourage" and the Board will concentrate their efforts on promoting the unique talents women bring to our industry and their roles throughout the greater Atlanta technology community. Plans for 2007 include annual events such as the Women of the Year awards ceremony and WITConnect, as well as expanding WIT's Meetings to include workshops and re-energizing WIT's Mentor. "The board will guide WIT as we continue to grow and offer more programs to encourage women and girls choosing careers in technology," said Judi Vitale, 2007 WIT President. "We are known for our great events and programs and will continue to build upon this reputation by expanding our offerings to affect even more career advancement. This year, we will broaden our reach by presenting leadership meetings on a monthly basis, launching a series of workshops that offer practical advice for today's technology executives, and introducing a revamped Mentor program, connecting women wanting to advance." "We also plan to augment our Board with several outstanding leaders from the technology community serving as directors and helping spread the word about our organization and the good work we do. They will be instrumental in moving WIT to the next level," said Sue Miller, 2007 WIT Foundation President. "Look for more information about our expanding Board in the near future."
