WIT Announces Nominees for
Eighth Annual Women of the Year in Technology Awards Fifty-One Nominees Represent Diverse Industries
March 8, 2007 – ATLANTA, GA - Women In Technology (WIT), the leading association devoted to the development of Georgia's businesswomen in the technology industry, is pleased to announce the nominees for the 2007 Women of the Year in Technology awards.
The Awards, now in their eighth year, recognize women who hold leadership positions in business, technology or scientific roles within a technology corporation or those women who hold technology or scientific leadership roles in a non-technology corporation. The nominees are Georgia residents holding managerial positions, including budgetary responsibility, within an organization that is headquartered or affiliated in Georgia.
The nominees this year represent a broad range of industries outside of traditional technology companies, including banking, retail, health care and utilities. As testament to the far-reaching achievements of women in technology-oriented roles, the nominees' influence extends to nearly every functional role, encompassing executive leadership at the CEO level and senior management in sales, marketing, operations, customer support and information technology.
In 2007, exceptional women in technology could be nominated in one of three industry categories representing the diverse scope of leadership roles available to women in Georgia:
Emerging/Small Business
