Women in Technology (WIT) Hires Executive Director
Heather Rocker Introduced at WIT's March Breakfast Meeting

March 14, 2007 – ATLANTA, GA - Those attending WIT's meeting today at Maggiano's in Buckhead met WIT's new Executive Director, Heather Rocker.  Rocker joins WIT, the premier society in Georgia advancing the careers of women in the field of technology, from the Georgia Center for Non-profits.  A graduate of Georgia Tech, Rocker holds a bachelor's in Industrial Engineering with an emphasis in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.  She brings more than 15 years experience in volunteer leadership positions to WIT along with a strong track record of establishing repeatable processes, procedures and operational efficiencies.

"Hiring an Executive Director is a big step for WIT and for the first Executive Director, we needed a person with exceptional professional association experience," said Judi Vitale, WIT President.  "We found that in Heather Rocker and are thrilled she will be joining us.  We are sure that with her help our organization can grow and achieve even more than we have over the last fourteen years."

As Executive Director and in coordination with WIT's Program Managers, Rocker will have responsibility for all programming, fundraising and general and administrative activities for the organization.  She will report to the WIT Boards of Directors.  "Our objective was to find someone who is able to support the strategic needs our organization along with the needs of volunteers so that all grow through their association," explained Niki Rabren, Chair of the Search Committee.  "Heather's experience demonstrates her unique ability to do just that."

Besides Rabren from ettain group, the committee included Cassie Crist of Windham Brannon; Sue Miller, Sue Miller & Associates; Patricia Harris, The Edge Connection; Mary Lou Heastings, Executive Alliance; Janet Turnure, and Judi Vitale.  WIT was assisted in the search process by ettain group, Inc.  "WIT is very grateful to the search committee and ettain group for their assistance in this process.  We were gratified by the number of very talented women who were interested in leading our organization and thank the committee for their hard work and diligence," commented Sue Miller, WIT Foundation President.
