Women In Technology (WIT) adds Vicki Hamilton to Foundation Board
Senior Vice President at Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. will be Director

July 24, 2007 – ATLANTA, GA - Women In Technology (WIT), the leading association devoted to the development of Georgia's businesswomen in the technology industry, has elected Vicki Hamilton to the board of directors for its Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the organization.  Hamilton has been active in WIT, having previously served on the organization's board as Director, Technology.

Hamilton is the Senior Vice President of Enterprise Performance Office at Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.  She has over 20 years of experience in technology, operations and general management with a proven track record of leveraging technologies and improving operational efficiencies to achieve strong business results.  Hamilton is also very involved in the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC).

"We are pleased to bring Vicki Hamilton's experience and passion for our organization to the WIT Foundation board," said Sue Miller, president, WIT Foundation.  "Her leadership and ideas are a powerful addition to an already accomplished group of women who are driving the direction of our organization.  We are very pleased that she has agreed to contribute her time and talents to the WIT Foundation."

The WIT Foundation's board develops policies and endorses programs that support its mission of encouraging girls and young women to consider careers in technology.  The foundation is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) that maintains its own officers and board of directors.  In the past year, the Foundation has funded teams including 30% or more girls to participate in robotics competitions through a partnership with FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and funded a trip to the world championships in Australia for East Cobb Middle School's F1 in Schools team comprised of a majority of girls.  It has also partnered with Cool Girls and their "Cool Tech" program.
