Becky Blalock serves as Southern Company's Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer where she directs information technology strategy and operations and manages infrastructure, networks, desktops, applications, telephony, customer support services and cyber security. Blalock began her career at Georgia Power, holding various positions in Economic Development Department, Corporate Communications and Customer Service. Blalock serves on several boards and has received numerous honors including Computerworld Magazine's 2006 Premier 100 IT Leader, the 2006 Power Woman by Atlanta Woman Magazine and the 2003 Georgia CIO of the Year.
Chris Foretich is Director of Applications Services for Southern Company, responsible for production support and maintenance of the company's existing business applications, new solution development and implementation, database administration, and vendor package installation. Foretich's more than 20 years of experience in technology encompasses roles at LandAmerica Financial Group as the General Manager and Vice President of Emerging Technologies, and as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for LandAmerica OneStop (a subsidiary of LandAmerica Financial Group).
Wes McDowell is the Vice President and Chief Information Officer for the Georgia region of Southern Company. Serving in his present role since April 2006, McDowell is responsible for technology strategy and implementation for six subsidiaries, including Georgia Power, Savannah Electric, Southern LINC, Southern Telecom, Southern Company Energy Solutions and Southern Company Services-Atlanta. McDowell began his career with Georgia Power in 1978. He serves in an advisory capacity to the Camp Fire Boys and Girls and the Georgia chapter of the Arthritis Foundation.
Southern Company During his 28 year career with Southern Company, Traynor has become a versatile leader of information technology with assignments in three major business units (power generation, division operations, and information resources), three Southern Company subsidiaries (Alabama Power, Georgia Power, and Southern Company Services), and leadership roles in all major IT disciplines. Traynor began his career at Southern Company as a junior engineer at Alabama Power. Traynor later held positions of increasing responsibility in Alabama Power's MIS and IR functions while earning his master's in business administration from Samford University. |
