Working his way up the ranks, he managed a myriad of functional groups that were part of the Information Services Division.

In 1990 Jerry relocated to Tempe, Arizona to manage First Interstates Centralized Data Center. At the time, FIB was a geographically disbursed 54 Billion asset sized bank. He managed the Infrastructure organization until late 1996 when it was acquired by Wells Fargo Bank. At this time, Jerry began a year long search for a company that would give him the opportunity to continue to grow and allow him to use his experience and knowledge to make a difference. In September 1997, Campanella began his career with National City Bank where he managed the efforts of the support organization through multiple acquisitions while rebuilding the Data Center to a centralized state of the art technology group.

In 2005 and 2006, he was engaged in integrating support for NAT City Investments located in Indiana, National Processing Company in Kentucky and NCC Mortgage located in Cincinnati while contributing to the IT transformation efforts and a Bank Wide Best in Class initiative. The NCC support organization was approximately a 600 + FTE group that supported all platforms and the governance for maintaining standards/process for the production environment.
