Meet The 2005 Judges

Judges for the 2005 Awards included Terry Blum, Georgia Tech College of Management; Mylle Mangum, International Banking Technologies; Marci McCarthy, Executive Alliance; Gregory Peters, Internap and Sig Mosley, Imlay Investments.

 

Terry C. Blum
Dean and Tedd Munchak Professor
Georgia Tech College of Management

Terry Blum earned a PhD at Columbia University in 1982, and has been the Dean of Georgia Tech's business school, the College of Management, since the summer of 1999. She was named to the Tedd Munchak Chair in Entrepreneurship in 1996 making her the first woman at Georgia Tech to be awarded an endowed Chair.

She currently serves as an advisor or director for several entrepreneurial endeavors including: Stanford's Roundtable on Engineering Entrepreneurship Education; a non-profit accelerator for women's entrepreneurship, Project Tsunami's Global Brain Trust (partially funded by the Kauffman Foundation); a not-for-profit venture, MedShare International, that creates value and improves health through the collection of surplus medical supplies and equipment for distribution to developing countries; the non-profit board of GATV (the Georgia Tech Technology Ventures) that facilitates the transfer of technology from Georgia Tech and other research universities; and EDI (Georgia Tech's Economic Development Institute). In addition, she is participating as an organizer and director of a new community bank, Midtown Bank and Trust. Dean Blum played a key role in the development and planning of Technology Square, Georgia Tech's campus expansion into Midtown Atlanta.

 

Mylle Mangum
CEO
International Banking Technologies

Ms. Mangum is the CEO of International Banking Technologies, the leading provider of retail branch banking solutions. She received her education from Emory University.

Previously, Ms. Mangum was CEO of True Marketing Services, a private equity effort to consolidate marketing services companies. From May 1999 to June 2002, Ms. Mangum was the CEO of MMS Incentives. Prior to that, she served as President, Global Payment Systems and Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning and Expense Management for Carlson Wagonlit Travel. Ms. Mangum was also previously the Executive Vice-President, Strategic Management for Holiday Inn Worldwide. Ms. Mangum serves on the boards of Scientific-Atlanta, Payless ShoeSource, Haverty Furniture Companies, The Barnes Group, Respironics and Emageon.

 

Marci McCarthy
CEO
Executive Alliance, Inc.

Marci McCarthy is the CEO and Co-Founder of Executive Alliance, the premier organization for creating leadership-recognition forums that honor and recognize outstanding achievements of executives and their companies throughout different industries.

Recognized in "Who's Who in the Georgia's Technology Community" by the Atlanta Business Chronicle and as a "Woman to Watch" by The BroadSheet, Marci is an active member of the community. Currently, she is Chairman of the American Diabetes Association Father's Day Council and is responsible for their flagship program, The Father of the Year Awards. She serves on Techbridge's Board of Directors and their Executive Committee for the organization's annual fund raiser, the Digital Ball. She also served on the board of Women in Technology (WIT) and has been responsible for the highly acclaimed success of the Women of the Year in Technology Awards over the last five years. She was tapped to lead the organization as president in 2001. Other non-profit boards that Marci has served on are The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and SciTrek's Advisory Board of Directors.

 

Gregory A. Peters
President, CEO & Board Member
Internap Network Services Corporation

Greg Peters has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Internap Network Services Corporation since April 2002, as well as a member of the Board of Directors. Peters earned his BBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Georgia and his MBA in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management, Thunderbird Campus in Glendale, Arizona.

Peters has lectured on International Business at Thunderbird and Sonoma State University and is currently a visiting lecturer at the University of Georgia Terry School of Business MBA program and for various undergraduate programs.

Peters currently serves on the Terry School of Business Alumni Board at the University of Georgia, the Technology Association of Georgia Board, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Board, the Advisory Board of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and the Advisory Board of Adventis. In December of 2004, Peters was appointed by President George W. Bush to the National Infrastructure Advisory Counsel, a White House Committee, which advises the President and The Department of Homeland Security on issues associated with the protection of our national infrastructure.

 

Sig Mosley, Jr.
President
Imlay Investments, Inc.

Mosley received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Emory University in 1968. Mosley started as a staff accountant for Peat Marwick & Mitchell. He later joined Management Science America, Inc. (now Dun & Bradstreet Software Services, Inc.) as a staff accountant and served as Secretary-Treasurer and was a Vice President.

Mosley serves on the board of directors of the following private companies: Ardext Technologies, Inc., Bancintelligence; Contract Packaging, Inc., eQuorum Corporation; EzGov, Inc.; Fountainhead Water Company, Inc.; Kelly Registration, Inc.; MCF Systems, Inc.; Photobooks, Inc.; and, USBA Holdings, Inc. Mosley is also a Director of The Imlay Foundation, Inc., Techbridge, and Entrepreneurs Foundation of the Southeast. He is also a director of GATV.
