Scott Coleman is a Senior Client Partner with Korn / Ferry International where he is a member of the firm's Global Technology Market team in addition to serving as the Sector Leader for Communications & Convergence. He specifically concentrates on the recruitment of senior-level executives, officers and board members. Prior to joining Korn / Ferry, Scott spent more than 20 years in the technology industry. The majority of that time was focused on developing leadership experience in general management and senior executive operating roles at Apple Computer, Microsoft and Philips Electronics, where he served as the Worldwide Senior Vice President and General Manager for Computer & Communications products. After the Fortune 500, Scott was retained as an Executive-in-Residence by venture capital and private equity groups to become the CEO of early to middle stage technology companies, including eCompanyStore, Inc. and Cymtec Solutions. He has rich experience in enterprise account management, channel distribution models and leading multi-national teams of people. Scott earned his undergraduate degree from Niagara University in New York. He attended the Executive MBA program at Boston University and he participated in the Executive Management Program in International Business at the London Business School.
WIT's 2001 Woman of the Year in Technology, Joan Herbig is now leading Cambia Security, Inc. Named CEO in June 2003, Herbig is responsible for all Cambia business and operational units. Her vision for the company is focused on growing Cambia's reputation as a leading security provider, leveraging its knowledge capital, business partnerships and world-class technology to deliver superior customer value. Prior to Cambia, Joan was CEO of XcelleNet, Inc., the industry leader and worldwide provider of Frontline Management solutions for remote systems and mobile devices and was the driving force behind the re-emergence of XcelleNet after its divesture from Sterling Commerce in early 2000. Before joining XcelleNet, Joan was with Digital Communications Associates where she served as Senior Product Line Manager responsible for marketing and product management of DCA's software product lines. Joan began her business career in customer support at IBM Corporation. An active member of the Georgia technology community, Joan serves on the Board of Directors for AeA and the Technology Association of Georgia.
Susan Hitchcock joined the Turknett Leadership Group in 1992. In addition to her client services role, she was named executive director of Turknett's women's initiatives in 2003 and created the Women in Leadership Seminar Series. Susan is also involved in research, writing, and speaking on the subject of women and leadership. Before joining Turknett, Susan completed a 24-year career with BellSouth Corporation where she held a variety of leadership positions of increasing responsibility. At the executive level, Susan specialized in internal and external communications. As a community volunteer, Susan has served as an adult literacy tutor, a teen mentor, a help line counselor, a fundraiser, and a member of the Governor's Committee on Post-Secondary Education. Supporting women's leadership, Susan has served on the board of the Georgia Executive Women's Network (GEWN) and in 1997, she received GEWN's Founder's Award. Currently, Susan is on the Board of Possible Woman Foundation International (PWFI) and serves on their Scholarship Committee. She is also an active member of the Board of Directors' Network and the Atlanta Women's Network (AWN). A special passion of Susan's is her "Age of SHEroes" project - a resource dedicated to female leaders.
Paul Pishal is a Managing Director of H.I.G Ventures, specializing primarily in the digital media, broadband and data communications sectors. HIG is one of the largest, most successful venture capital firms in the Southeastern US. Paul is currently a board member of LVL7 Systems, EG Technologies, Lancope, and Vocalocity. Paul has over 20 years experience in general management, business development, and engineering with industry leading technology companies. He has been developing industry-leading solutions for integrated voice, video, and data services both from a system architecture and product perspective. Prior to joining H.I.G., Paul was with Cisco Systems where he led advanced architecture development for the Broadband Access Market. Previous to Cisco Systems, Paul held general management and business development positions at both Philips Electronics and Scientific-Atlanta. He was the leading architect for interactive video system development and deployment at Scientific-Atlanta and has been an instrumental contributor to several international communications standards organizations. Paul earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University and an MS degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Dr. Guido Sacchi serves as the Chief Information Officer of CompuCredit, a financial services company that uses analytical techniques, including sophisticated computer models, to market general-purpose credit cards, stored value cards and related fee-based products and services. At CompuCredit, Guido's responsibilities include setting and executing the company's IT strategies, delivering business value from technology, and running the company's worldwide IT operations. Guido's experience and background also includes senior management positions at Deloitte Consulting and PricewaterhouseCoopers, providing him more than 15 years of international experience across industries. A frequent speaker and magazine contributor on the topics of technology management, intersection of business and technology, leadership, and organizational change, Guido serves on the CIO Advisory Board of the Georgia CIO Leadership Association (GCLA), and on the Board of Directors of Park Pride, a non-profit organization dedicated to the creation of a world-class park system in metro Atlanta. He is active in the WIT (Women in Technology) programs and serves as a mentor in the Georgia 100 program. Guido is the 2004 GCLA National CIO of the Year and a recipient of the CIO 100 Award in 2004 and 2006.
Leland Strange is Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer and President of Intelligent Systems Corporation. Before his appointment to Intelligent Systems in 1982, he founded Quadram Corporation in 1980. Prior to that, Leland founded a number of successful ventures in several industries and served at Mercer University as marketing professor specializing in entrepreneurial enterprises. An active member of the business community, he serves on the board of Allied Holdings, Inc., and several privately owned companies. Leland serves as Chairman of the Georgia Tech Research Corp, as advisory board member of Georgia Tech's College of Management and as a trustee of Georgia Tech. He has also served on the boards of publicly traded companies and as a board member of the Georgia, Atlanta and Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Research Alliance and EmTech Biotechnology Development. He is past chair of the American Electronics Association Southeast Chapter and served as trustee for Georgia Baptist Health Care Services. He was inducted into the Georgia Technology Hall of Fame in 1995 and into the Hall of Fame of the Georgia Tech College of Management in 2006.
Dr. Beverly Daniel Tatum is the ninth president of Spelman College. Prior to her appointment to the Spelman presidency in 2002, she spent 13 years at Mount Holyoke College, serving in various roles including dean of the College and acting president. Before joining the Mount Holyoke faculty in 1989, Beverly was an associate professor and assistant professor of psychology at Westfield State College in Westfield, Massachusetts, and a lecturer in Black Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara. A critically acclaimed author, Beverly is a clinical psychologist whose areas of research include black families in white communities, racial identity in teens, and the role of race in the classroom. For over 20 years, she has taught a course on the psychology of racism. She has also toured extensively, leading workshops on racial identity development and its impact in the classroom. Her publications include numerous articles, like the classic 1992 Harvard Educational Review article, "Talking about Race, Learning about Racism: An Application of Racial Identity Development Theory in the Classroom" and books "Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?" (1997) and "Assimilation Blues: Black Families in a White Community" (1987). |
