The Leadership Foundations Careers In Actions program is designed to help women develop the critical skills they need to be effective leaders and drive results through people. This program is six months long, and presents the following topics to participants:

July 2008*

Session One: Program Kick-Off

  • Let’s Get To Know You

  • How To Get The MOST Out of This Program

  • Get Ready, Get Set, GOAL!



Aug 2008

Session Two: Vision, Strategy and Execution

Participants will learn why vision, strategy and execution are not just topics for the executive conference room, but a means for directing their own careers as well.



Sept 2008

Session Three: Powerful Communication: Getting Your Message Across

From informal email to pitch an idea, to a formal presentation in front of senior management, participants will learn how to adapt their written and verbal communication skills across a variety of audience and media types. 



Oct 2008

Session Four: Management Vs. Leadership

Unique skills are required to be an effective leader and an effective manager. This session will examine the skills for each and when certain situations require one versus the other.



Nov2008

Session Five: Managing Conflict

Participants will learn best practices for dealing with conflict with customers, subordinates, peers and superiors.



Dec 2008

Session Six: Building Social Capital: The Art and Science of Building Your Network


Participants will learn why building relationships within one’s organization are as important as building relationships outside the organization. Specific techniques for breaking the ice and building lasting positive impressions will be discussed.
A brief graduation presentation and reception will be held for participants and their sponsors/managers.
